Whether you are a business owner, a BID levy payer or an employee of a South Bank business, you have all benefitted in the last 5 years from the work of South Bank BID.
The BID was first voted in by South Bank businesses in 2014, and for the last 5 years has provided essential services to the business community, including security (South Bank Patrol and four dedicated Metropolitan Police officers), public realm management (refuse collection, graffiti removal, jet washing), destination marketing (Southbanklondon.com marketing channels and major events like Lumiere London) and business support services (STAR Card discounts, free training programmes, lobbying to deliver hardship funds to mitigate rising business rates).
A BID must be voted for by its levy payers every 5 years to ensure they wish to retain its services, which is why South Bank BID has just launched our Business Plan for the next 5 year – “A world-class South Bank for everyone” – which I encourage you to read. While retaining our existing essential services, the BID intends to deliver an even more ambitious programme. This includes a recruitment and skills service to help local businesses, investing in electric vehicles and freight consolidation to improve air quality, working more closely with local businesses to provide opportunities for our visitor economy and increasing security by bringing a dedicated police officer into Waterloo Station.
Voting papers have now being sent by Lambeth Electoral Services to all the businesses in South Bank BID area (including Southwark businesses). I hope we can count on your ongoing support and that those of you who vote will support 5 more years of South Bank BID building a better, more prosperous and successful place for all of our businesses.
