Explore Scandinavia with South Social Film Festival!

“In 2021 we travel to Denmark, in a collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark in the UK, and discover loads of intriguing movies about teenagers, family ties and family issues.

We start with Bridgend by Jeppe Ronde on the 20th of January at 7pm, a haunting mystery drama inspired by true events.

“Bridgend” follows Sara and her dad, Dave as they arrive in a small village in Bridgend County. The village is haunted by suicides amongst its young inhabitants. The film is an uncompromising story focused on the relationship between vulnerable teenagers and their parents who are left in the dark.

Bridgend is Rønde’s fiction film debut. It is entirely shot on location in Wales, with many of the local teenagers casted as actors.”
