A month full of free jazz events
25. EFG London Jazz Festival is going to take place between 10-19 November and Lambeth’s cultural hub Southbank Centre is one of the busiest venues. Over 2,500 artists will perform across 60 venues over the course of the 10-day festival.
Southbank will host the leading names in the Jazz scene such as Marcus Miller, Abdullah Ibrahim and Hugh Masekela. Marcus Millar, who is known for his eclectic touch to jazz, will be coming back with a next project; whereas Abdullah Ibrahim will revisit his days as The Jazz Epistles in 1950s.
The festival also includes events for toddlers as well as free talks and lunchtime event that you can enjoy hard-bop jazz of Leo Richardson in your break. Mr Richardson is widely recognised as one of London’s hard-bop tenor saxophonists. His show will take place in the first day of the festival, 10th, at the 2nd Floor Central Bar Foyer. It will start at 1 pm and run for 60 min.
There are free talks almost everyday on the impact of jazz and the next generation jazz singers. If you want to be a part of Jazz, you can also participate in Jazz Social Dance on 17th, 2 pm. It is absolutely free and open to all ages and abilities!
