Exclusive comedy appearances from a host of leading comedians showcasing new material in June and July in London.
The Red Imp Comedy Club is pleased to announce an incredible line up of comic stars in the lead up to this year’s Edinburgh Festival in two venues over June and July 2018 across London.
Founder of The Red Imp Comedy Club and resident host, Susan Murrayis delighted to confirm the launch of its South London hub at Prince of Wales inBrixton. Which, along with Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre Pub, Walthamstow, will offer residents of London the opportunity to see big name stand up performers in a relaxed and intimate setting.
This summer’s Edinburgh Preview season features an array of international and home-grown, first timers to The Red Imp stage, all ready to impress with their new material before heading to Scotland.
These including a comedy genius – Paul Foot, award winning American sitcom writer and actor- Laura Kiteinger, up and coming- Lauren Pattison, Britain’s Got Talent 2017 star- Daliso Chaponda, Labour spin Dr turned politicalcommentator & comedian-Ayesha Hazarika and award winning improv rap-Abandoman.
Along with Red Imp favourites Reg D Hunter, Mark Steel and Lucy Porter to name a few, plus matinee show with seasoned performersRobin Ince, Seann Walsh & Marcus Brigstocke.
Susan Murray comments, “As usual we have the strongest line up in London with most of our acts having done Live @ The Apollo and an almost even split between male and female acts. You won’t find that anywhere else. This year’s Edinburgh season sees a range of comedians who have never been available to perform with us such as Simon Evans andDana Alexander. In addition I have secured some more unusual acts such as Abandoman, who twist together on rap and improvisation, no really. They did a huge tour with Ed Sheeran! The gig has such a great reputation on the UK comedy circuit it’s in such high demand I’ve had to add some Sunday matinees to accommodate all the great acts that want to do it”.
She continues, “We’ve had to bring the whole Walthamstow season forward by a month so we’re not competing with the World Cup but I am really chuffed to confirm the new Brixton branch of the Red Imp. My master plan to take over of the Victoria Line is starting with a pincer movement. It’ll be excellent to spread the Red Imp love to both ends of town!I like to think that Red Imp is the sole reason Walthamstow won the very first London Borough of Culture Award. In your FACE Brent”.
The full line up for Edinburgh Preview is as follows and doors open at 8pm for prompt show 8.30pm and it is recommended to purchase tickets in advance from www.redimpcomedy.com
