Santa Visits Brixton Windmill on 16th December, 2018!
The Friends of Windmill Gardens are excited to be hosting their annual Christmas event at Brixton Windmill, from 2pm on Sunday the 16th December.
Santa and his two helpful elves will be taking residence inside their new grotto in the Brixton Windmill and can’t wait to meet all of the children who have been good this year. There will also be a whole host of fun activities on offer at the event, including Christmas decoration workshops with Jackie from KidsKreate and classes on how to create colourful Christmas wreaths from recycled materials. Brixton Windmill’s resident face-painter Snezana will also be working her magic and there will be festive refreshments, carol singing and music during the afternoon.
Even more exciting is that Santa’s team of reindeer will be having a well-earned rest in Windmill Gardens all afternoon and will be very happy to see everyone who comes along to visit them.
To top it all off, Friends of Windmill Gardens will be hosting their first ever festive bake-off competition, where winners can walk home with a hamper of seasonal goodies from local businesses. To enter, baking enthusiasts just have to make a festive dish (sweet or savoury) using Brixton Windmill flour (click here to see local outlets that stock the flour). Then they must bring their bake, along with the recipe, to the event for judging.
There are two categories for the bake-off: adults (14+) and children (up to 14 years old). Entrants can also share their creations on social media using the hashtag #FOWGfestivebake, and Friends of Windmill Gardens will happily share them!
Suggested donation for visiting Santa £3 per child – other activities free.
