Street children charity raises £4k at special dinner
The Friends of Street Children Bangladesh, a UK-based charity raised over £4,000 to help support Bangladeshi street-connected children to take part in the Street Children Cricket World Cup 2019, due to be held at Lord’s Cricket Ground in May this year.
The fundraising meal was held at Westminster Kitchen and supported by Canary Wharf Group with attendees including Howard Dawber and Zakir Khan from Canary Wharf Group, Mr M Hassan Rana of City Lord, Safiul Alam owner of Regents Lake, Matas Gailevicius of A13 Steel, Councillor Abdul Hai, Mike Sherriff and Saif Osmani from Friends of Street Children Bangladesh.
The Friends of Street Children are well on their way towards reaching their target and thanked friends, supporters and sponsors.
A limited edition poster for the street children world cup will be auctioned at special events coming up at Canary Wharf in April and at the UK Parliament in May 2019.
