Sean Harriss resigns from top Lambeth Council job
Sean Harriss has resigned from his job as head of Lambeth Council.
Harriss resigned as chief executive of Bolton council in 2015 to take up the chief executive post at Lambeth Council, but has now stepped down ‘following a period of ill-health’.
He has been off work since June this year and drew controversy after taking took up two months paid leave at the start of the summer.
Cllr Lib Peck, Lambeth Council leader, said: “Sean was very committed to the role, and his enthusiastic personality meant that staff throughout the organisation will have fond memories of working with him. His resignation is a loss to Lambeth, especially given the amount of work the organisation is currently undertaking.”
